Brookfield East HS class of 2021 Sneak Peek | Calvin
Some kids say they’re interested in business. Some kids might even take an accounting class as a freshman (my son David, for example). However, not all kids win a top place in the Wisconsin Stock Market Simulation Game. IN SEVENTH GRADE.
Well guess what? Calvin did.
And look at him now - he literally looks ready to take over Wall Street.
Congratulations in advance to this Brookfield East class of 2021 graduate. He will be managing someone’s money someday… and doing it in style.
Because Calvin is looking so suave in his Sneak Peek photo, I thought I’d share some tips on how you, too, can look fantastic in photos.
5 TIPS TO LOOKING YOUR BEST IN PHOTOS
STAND AT A 40 DEGREE ANGLE TO THE CAMERA. Standing mugshot-style to the camera will give the perception that you are wider (stronger, tougher, more powerful). While that may be appropriate in certain situations and photo styles, standing at an angle will give a much better, slimming and more flattering perspective.
CREATE SPACE BETWEEN YOUR BODY AND YOUR ARMS. Whether your hands are up by your face, on your hips or in your pockets, you want an actual physical space between your torso and your arms. That space, even if only a bit, provides a lovely slimming effect.
WEAR CLOTHES THAT FIT. Your clothes don’t have to be tight but they do need to be the right size. Fitted clothing will be the most flattering thing you could wear. Yes, for ANY body type. Big, baggy, boxy outfits will make you look just like that.
LAYERS FOR THE WIN. Layering a jacket or cardigan on top not only looks good, but it creates a “pillar” - especially when working with monochromatic clothing. Ladies, I’m talking to you: imagine a black dress with a red cardigan. Down the middle there appears a pillar of black - creating a lengthening and slimming effect. But wait, it works for guys, too! Check out Calvin - that awesome (fitted!) jacket creates a slimming, flattering look.
HIRE A PHOTOGRAPHER WHO KNOWS POSING. Are you still self conscious about how you look, even after all those tips? You need to work with a photographer who knows the right camera angles for different body types and the right posing for all kinds of people. It’s a game changer, I promise! To make things easy on you, if you need a lead on a professional photographer - nay, a CERTIFIED Professional Photographer, just click that button right down there. It will connect you to someone I happen to know personally. I know she will do her best work for you. ;)
