Greenfield Beagle Family get their Portrait Sneak Peek

Chad and Ruth (not pictured, sorry… but she’s still quite fabulous!) felt it was time for some updated family portraits. After all, they had added a new Beagle to the family!

I went over to their home and upon entry, was curiously greeted by my namesake (let me believe it, ok?) Abby who sniffed and sniffed.

Tini eventually came over too.

But then there’s Chip. This guy had a troubled youth before landing with the Lawsons. Now, Chip is a pretty anxious pup, jumping at the slightest unexpected movement. Or stranger. Especially a stranger holding something “unknown”.

EDITOR’S NOTE: To think of what Chip unnecessarily lived through makes me incredibly sad. Can we just all agree to adopt from the Humane Society or your breed of choice’s equivalent? These dogs simply need LOVE and a safe place to sleep and play.

So there I was, a stranger holding photography equipment. Great.

I decided to move slowly, thinking that would make him feel safe. Also, I started their session in their comfortable space - their bed in the window. In fact, I even had my “stalker lens” on (70-200mm for you photo nerds), keeping me at quite a distance away.

I think this little peek into the session - at the very beginning - should be a sign to you that the rest of the session went really well. JUST LOOK AT THIS.

Dad and his Beagles.

Dad and his Beagles.

This is just so precious. Look at them looking at him. The more I stare at this photo, the direction of their gazes and the expression of focus, the more I love it.
