My dad was in theatre and an avid storyteller. I have zero talent for stage work, so marketing is a way for me to help small business owners tell their stories. It fills my soul to help others not just survive small business life, but thrive!

That marketing is just about making things pretty. But really... marketing is a mindset. Business owners don't realize that everything they do in a day has to do with marketing. For example: how you answer your phone, your email signature, how you show up for a meeting, when you reply to emails is all related to how you are perceived by others. How you are perceived is directly related to your brand.
NAME ONE THING YOU WISH PEOPLE KNEW ABOUT YOUR JOB.
When it comes to being creative, it happens at very random times of the day! There is no 9 to 5 workday in marketing. Ideas come at the oddest time, and you need to get those thoughts down right away or they are gone. It is nearly impossible to sit down at your desk and just BE creative in that moment. As Einstein said, "creativity is intelligence having fun!"

Teaching business owners how to use marketing strategies to meet business goals. Those aha moments are priceless!
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO SOMEONE STARTING IN YOUR INDUSTRY?
You cannot be everything to everyone in marketing. Find what you love and do that very, very well.
