HOW DID YOU GET STARTED IN YOUR FIELD OF WORK?
I was introduced to the business by a former client of mine, when I worked in advertising. I was looking for an opportunity to have a greater impact in helping people, as well as more freedom in my career.
WHAT IS ONE THING PEOPLE think THEY KNOW ABOUT YOUR JOB?
Some people thing real estate happens exactly as it unfolds on HGTV - But really, it is much less glamorous & there's a lot more going on behind the scenes than is showcased in the one hour pre-recorded programs.
NAME ONE THING YOU WISH PEOPLE KNEW ABOUT YOUR JOB?
Mostly, I want people to understand that, as a real estate agent, I am a fiduciary - and this is a big, important role that I take very seriously. Buying (and selling) a home is one of the biggest financial decisions people will make in their lifetime, and I am here to guide them through the entire process and make sure every little detail is being handled. Part of that responsibility is to negotiate on their behalf, while at the same time, maintening an open line of communication with other real estate agents (cooperative agents), who are part of the home sale process. My goal is to get everyone to the closing table, where we can celebrate a collective win for all involved.
WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT YOUR JOB?
I love the relationships I develop with my clients and their families. I love taking care of people, and minimizing stress. I love seeing my clients acheive success , and I love sharing in that success. I love a LOT about my job.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO SOMEONE STARTING OUT IN YOUR INDUSTRY?
Make sure everyone knows what you do and WHY you do it. Lead with integrity, care and passion. Focus on listening first to gain understanding, then help, add value, share useful information...give, give, give.
