On the Other Side of the Lens | Part 5 | The Results.
Welp. I've gotten sucked in. I do apologize for leaving you hanging but my clients would have been pretty sad if I didn't show up for their sessions because I was too busy... blogging.
And speaking of my clients and blogging, I will have lots of blogging coming up soon. Lots of pretty people and fun stories. But for now, back to our family photos in Colorado....
So. Where were we, anyway?
I think I was telling you about that time when I jumped in with both feet and had our family pictures taken.
To fill in the backstory (and a little informal education on hiring a photog) here are the links --
This post explains WHY we decided to have portraits done. Perhaps you can relate?
Here I explain why it is SO IMPORTANT to hire the right photographer for you.
Read about WHO I hired and HOW I did it. (You have it easy - I'm standing here, right in front of you, waving my hands around in the air. Me! Pick me!)
Finally, I demonstrate precisely how photographers panic over having their picture taken. Just like anyone else.
And that brings us to now. I have our photos and I LOVE them so very much.

The scenery reminds me of our favorite trip - to date - to the beautiful Estes Park, Colorado. The smiles make me SO happy. No, really. My kids. Both of them. SMILING. And in some of the pictures, THEY ARE EVEN TOUCHING. No cooties. No crying. Just.... yay.
The biggest reason for family pictures in the first place is because I'm never in my family pictures. Consider this mission, accomplished.
That's me and my hunny, right there. Fifteen years strong. Two-kids-and-a-dog full. Love, forever. Best friends, always. Now, finally, with photographic evidence.
And finally, the added business perk for a professional photographer when she hires another professional photographer: "real" pictures of ME. And like many of you, I ACTUALLY exclaimed (in massive relief) upon seeing the back of his camera, "Oh, wow! I actually look okay!"
After reading this, are you (finally!) thinking it's about time for some family portraits? Have you been endlessly waiting for that "right time"? Like having babies, there is no "right time". There is only NOW. And let me just tell you, in case there was any question, having your photo taken is WAAAAAAAAY less painful than childbirth.
