Have you ever wondered what we can do in the studio - versus outside or at a specific location? The thing with studio sessions is that we can do WHATEVER we want! We can keep it simple, make it detailed or something in between.
Here’s a list of some different looks that we can work out in the studio. Sometimes they are even layered together to meet you where you want to be (think: natural + relaxed and creative + artistic).
10 STYLING IDEAS FOR STUDIO SESSIONS
NATURAL + RELAXED This can be achieved using natural-looking lighting, organic background and wardrobe colors and posing in natural positions.
EDGY + DRAMATIC We can get to this look by using hard light, posing in dynamic and bold positions and using props and accessories such as leather jackets, hats, and sunglasses.
3. CLASSIC + TIMELESS This look involves using classic (traditional) poses and simple, elegant clothing choices, such as a black dress or suit, to create a timeless portrait.
4. CREATIVE + ARTISTIC Let’s use interesting and unconventional lighting setups and angles, experiment with unique posing and expressions.
5. FUN + PLAYFUL This involves incorporating playful props, such as balloons or confetti, and expressing your personality and sense of humor during the session.
6. DARK + MOODY The most important aspect to this look is using low-key lighting and creating a darker, more moody atmosphere in the studio, posing in dramatic positions and using creative editing techniques to enhance the mood.
7. GLAMOROUS What’s key here? Two things: using professional makeup and hairstyling and elegant clothing choices such as gowns or suits, to create a glamorous and sophisticated portrait.
8. SPORTY + ATHLETIC Incorporate sports equipment or uniforms (or athletic wear) into the session, using dynamic poses and perhaps even some action shots to highlight the senior's athleticism.
9. ACADEMIC This can be anything school related! Everything from stacks of books or a graduation cap and gown to a school mascot or classroom setting. We may even use classic poses and serious expressions to create a scholarly look.
10.SENTIMENTAL Do you have a certain place that means something special to you? What about a particular cherished item? Let’s create a portrait that reflects your personality, interests and heart.
