What does a photographer do in her spare time?
I swear, this isn't a riddle!
So what does this photographer do in her spare time? I go places and do things where I get to take more pictures. It's true. I'm wondering if there's a support group I should join?
Seriously though, when I'm not work for my clients, I get to try different things and photograph objects that are out of my norm. For example, when we travel, I get to photograph more landscapes and wildlife. I can try more action shots, more candids, more shots of buildings and urban settings.
This past weekend we went to the Chicago Botanic Gardens. This is the view my family had.

I normally don't put my feet up like that but it was a show of courtesy so that people could walk by me if they wanted. Turned out, I guess no one wanted to. At one point I turned my head and saw a CROWD had gathered! Gulp.
So here was my view... and the reason I had to lay down in goose poop to get it.
Oh, and these wild species were in attendance as well...
P.S. If you haven't been to the Chicago Botanic Gardens, GO! Make a day of it. It's so worth it, such a beautiful and peaceful place. When you do go, call me - I'll join you! :)
