Wauwatosa West class of 2024 | David | may
Did you miss Part 1 of David’s senior photos? We went out to Jacobus Park in September of his senior year and took some perfectly simple, totally HIM portraits.
Part 2 included a funny little story and a lesson about what NOT to do for your senior photos.
For Part 3 - surprise! We went to JAPAN!
Today’s post is all about PASSION.
I love including hobbies and sports into senior portrait sessions. My own son’s session (or, er, sessions) is no exception. He’s a guitar player, and really excellent player, at that! (Maybe totally biased, but also stating the facts.)
He self-studied for a while. He took lessons at the Wauwatosa School of Music (highly recommended!). He spent all four years (save the messy Covid year) in the Wauwatosa West Jazz Band. He plays gigs with two bands. In the fall, he’s auditioning for the college jazz band.
Guitar is his passion and I was chomping at the bit to get him into the studio with his instrument.
And so… weeks before graduation we finally did.

The next set of photos are the most emotional. Come back tomorrow to see why.
Does your senior play an instrument? Let’s include it in his senior portrait session! Whether we do a dark and moody rockstar look, outdoor in nature or something in between, this is an important part of his life that should be included in his story.
